The North Door

Yesterday was Friday the 13th, a good day to launch my book of short stories. I used Lulu.Com to publish the paperback book. Lulu does not put the book together for you, you have to do it yourself. I spent a couple of months getting it into a form that Lulu specified to make it ready for the printers. I used OpenOffice Writer for both the text and the cover. At the end of June I uploaded the files for the book and ordered a proof copy for myself. It was shipped July 3rd and arrived on July 12th. This is very good service. I opened the package and was surprised to see what a good job the printers had done. I had nightmares about the layout of the book after reading the problems people described on Lulu's forum. But I was delighted to see the results.
